It’s just over 6 weeks since I last got the bike out for a ride so I’m starting from base zero. I’m using my old road bike fitted with 25mm tyres and mudguards as a winter traiing bike. I rode a short route which takes an hour. It’s just over 12 miles so nothing challenging although there is one hill which demands a fair effort and another shorter one. The average speed is irrelevant as the distance includes getting in and out of Oxford and crossing the Ring Road a couple of times, plus several sets of traffic lights. Despite the cold clear weather it seemed hard going, but then I was probably wearing clothes which weighed almost as much as the bike!

A small start, but a start nonetheless.
